Rik Ritzen

Rik Ritzen

The name is Rik Ritzen also known the ‘Human Metronome’ and therefor the drummer of the band. My gear exists of Fame Drums, Paiste Cymbals, Masterwork Cymbals, Vic Firth Drumsticks, Axis Percussion Drumpedals, Evans Drumheads.

My first inspiration for playing the drums was my father, this man taught me the basics and from then on I learned everything else myself. Bands like Rammstein and Slipknot triggered me to start playing faster. Nowadays I draw inspiration from George Kollias (the mighty Nile) and Kerim ‘Krimh’ Lechner.

Some of my favourite bands exist with the names of: Nile, Behemoth, Decapitated, Amon Amarth, Wintersun, Dark Funeral, Cattle Decapitation, Aborted and well.. The list could go on and on.. Yet there is one particular band that isn’t exactly metal called Wardruna, a musical project based on Nordic spiritualism and the runes of the Elder Futhark. Definitely worth checking out!

Before eating my dinner (I love pizza, potato croquettes and MEAT!) I tend to my hobbies like playing the drums, playing videogames (The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is my favourite!) watching the tv-series ‘Vikings’ and hiking in the woods with my girlfriend.

Instead of going to work every day I’m still at school, currently in my second year of my professional bachelor in electromechanics.

I hope y’all enjoyed reading some about me and see that I am not half the robot our vocalist says I am. Last but not least I would like to thank my parents and my lovely girlfriend for all the support they give me and ofcourse those bandmates for being the awesome annoying persons they are.

By the way: electronic music, belgian roads and eating noises get on my nerves!
